Hongli 1/100 MG MS-06R-2 Zaku II Johnny Ridden Custom Ver. 2.0

Finally got myself the Hongli J. Riddens Zaku. Got this for 19USD. Hongli kits are getting better and better every release except for the Unicorn Titanium which is a mess.. big time! :)

After 2 weeks of building this kit all I can say is .. not bad. No loose joints or any problem encountered except for those lousy stickers / decals.

Able to paint the giant bazooka but too tired and too lazy to paint the other weapons so I did some dry brushing on the zaku machine gun and the heat hawk.. turns out fine 'err a mess hehehe!

DX Hobby Rocket Bazooka for Sinanju

This is a knockoff version of the uber expensive bazooka for Sinanju. To give you an idea the original bazooka sold here in our place cost from $29.99 to $40 USD and the package contains a novel (which is in Japanese) and a single bazooka. Its way too much for an average Joe considering its only a weapon. Tax importation or its just there are lots of greedy businessman here taking advantage of gunpla hobbyist? Just my two-cents worth.. :)

I got my rocket bazooka for $10 USD. It doesn't have the Japanese novel.. which I don't care I don't know Kanji, Katakana or Hiragana but the good part is that instead of one, it comes with two ... yes my friend you heard it right... TWO bad-ass weapon system. So that makes it $5 USD per piece .. not bad!

No major problem encountered building this weapon. Fit perfectly. The only problem encountered is the gray color .. too dull. So I hand painted it with Tamiya Flat Black to make it more presentable.

Here's the final result .. Rocket Bazooka mounted on the Sinanju gun. The second bazooka on the shield together with the UC Unicorn's gatling gun. Yes, my dear the gatling gun is also a knockoff. :)

I'm sooo in a hurry so I did mount those massive weapons on my Sinanju (surprise.. also a knockoff) and manage to take a couple of shots.. I'm dying to get more action poses with the Sinanju but I'm in a hurry , for I need to go somewhere else and I'm late!! Next time Sinanju.. next time...

This kit was acquired last December of 2009 from a friend. I cant remember exactly how much I got this (..for I bought a lot of SD back then ..jejeje), but as far as I can remember I got this for around $15.

Overall I love this kit! Specially the Acguy! This SDs are "mini mono-eyed monsta's"!!! Im too lazy to do some review on these due to hectic schedule so let these pictures speak for themselves...

Finally Im able to finish painting one kit to start the year right. Minor problems encountered .. lost a claw, broke a peg for the back-skirt plus broken beam saber! What else can I ask for?! Deym!

Got this kit from Ebay must have been my lucky day since these kit is hard to find here in our place. Cost me around $10, shipping included. Hopefully with this kit I can find and gather enough will, determination and of course and time to finish all my pending kits.

Why is that when you tend to get the rhythm and motivation to build and paint gunpla then you'll find some disappointments along the way. Im doin the SD Neue Ziel I got from Ebay last night then realized and found out that the peg of the back skirt got broke then worst come to worst the left claw got lost. deym..! This is life.

While trying to find the lost claw , I decided to shoot this monsta Hongli kit that I bought and built last year. This PG is collecting dust and cobwebs ala spiderman on top of a display cabinet. jejeje!

Its almost February and I still havent completed a single kit. After I completed the Sinanju I dont know that happen but im sooo lazy this days doin gunpla. Anyways since Im too lazy to complete a single kit, I told myself to snap build all my kits and once done then I'll one by one paint and do magic on them.

TT_Hongli SINANJU Part 3

Its Saturday at long last. No work and I can concentrate on my pending 'Nanju. I dont know whats into me but instead of finishing the whole 'nanju thingie, I worked and finished the 'nanju action base. Used some water slides that came with the Hongli kit to add details and variation. Looks awkward.. jejeje!

Test fit with a pair of long monster legs.. looks cool. I hope everything I planned fall into place for this kit. Crossing my fingers.. hopin it will look nice and presentable. :)

Ahhh.. I havent even started all the weapons that came with the Nanju, here I am with another plan. How about I'll give Sinanju a cool looking katana?... who will be the poor kit on my stash that will donate his katana. I remembered I got an extra katana from an Astray Green-Frame, actually its a freebie again from Jon "d Spy Killa" when I acquire his Blue Frame. Here we go.. initial coating..

While dealing with bloody red paint. I did also managed to paint 'Nanju's gun and also those watchamacallit ..tomahawks? Anyways heres the result..

Next stop... decals, finishing touches on the paints and maybe .. maybe spraying some matte topcoat (I ran out of matte aircans thats why. No time to get one. hehehe) Next time .. next time...

TT_Hongli SINANJU Part 2

My schedule for these past week was so tight that I barely squeeze some quality time with my this 'nanju. Retail IT is so damn demanding.. Deym Black Friday! I hate that time of the year.

After painstaking hours of snap building the kit, heres what I've finished so far...

Those legs are killer! Supa-detailed and nicely designed kit.. Im hurrying up to finish everything to see the end result even if this is just snap-built.

Shield. Im too eager to lay-out initial coating of gold paint to the face plate of the shield. Looks promising but needed a lot more attention to get this done. Messy .. messy paint job. Need to retouch this sooner or later.

Lower body. Finished. Was able to squeze time to paint all the beads for the waist part. This part make me wish Im doing an SD kit. SD have fewer parts to fix and paint. Hey, what am i talking about.. I chose to get this kit so its better to stop complaining and just do whatever needed to completely build it.

Tried building the whole shield for I wanna see the overall design. Not bad .. juz needed a couple more coating for the gold part and retouch and it should be fine.

Backpack. Damn another intricate part. By the look of it, i have to spend couple of hours or days finishing this up.

While waiting for painted parts to dry, I decided to make my own version of the Sinanju Action Stand. Laziness kicks in again, so I tried applying red paint on the action stand and realized that the background color is soo dark that I may have a hard time painting it red. Since my time is very limited, I used Tamiya Liquid Surfacer and begin handpainting the whole kit. Another messy stuff eh..

Sorry guys too sleepy to finish up the whole kit, so I'll post the next set of pictures on the next part of this review/wip.

TT_Hongli SINANJU Part 1

Everybody I know who are into gunpla are acting crazy when the news came out that theres a TT Hongli Sinanju coming out... woos and boos ... mixed reaction and emotions.. from curses/hate/flame from bandai fan boys to giggles and naughty smiles of those gundam fan bois.

I dont care what those bandai fan bois blabber about .. issue about legality, quality etc. I enjoy the hobby regardless of what brand it is, if this turns bad, incomparable with the bandai kit I dont care. I enjoy the challenge but if I can build this kit as close as possible to those they have built .. then the last laugh is on me.

Going back to the topic, got this for around $29 from our source who imports these kits. Its been a very busy week so I may have to break this topic into 2 or 3 part.. depends if I have spare time.

Enough of wasting time .. lets begin..

WIP...

The first thing after washing all the runners is paint the emblem and pipings with gold. Not much excited at first with the design of the skeleton or the overall design of the kit. I just wanna paint some details, my hands are begging me to start the details first rather than building the whole thing. Kinda messy paint but I'll gonna retouch this later once I've snap built this kit. Kudos to my daughter's Play-Doh and toy plate I have my instant stand. jejeje!

Been handpainting the details for two straight nights already (that was last Saturday and Sunday). And after those painstaking hours, I managed to build the head and bust. So far Im loving how they design the Sinanju.. one bad-ass looking mech.

Another night have passed and I was able to build both arms and shoulder of the famed Sinanju. Pardon all for my excitement it overcome everything and I forgot to take separate pic of the arms and shoulder armor . All I can say is "tt_hongli... your gonna break a lot of heart!!!" jejeje!

Well I gotta stop bloggin on this part and start building the rest of the Sinanju. For all those people who requested for a review or something about this talk of the town mech from TT_Hongli ... keep in touch .. I can feel you guys... hahhahah! I'll hurry up and build this baby!! And for those bandai fan bois... "your heart will surely gonna break when I'm done with this baby!!!"

TT_Hongli Si Ma Yi

Curiosity kills the cat. ehem. Got this kit out of curiosity. Been wondering how intricate the details on these line of series. My friend Jon "d spy killa" offered a trade for my 1/144 Wing Zero Custom with an Edward Elric fig (FullMetal Alchemist) plus extras. He included a Hongli Si Ma Yi. Yes its not Bandai, its TT_Hongli. Got excited for I can experiment and do what I want without regretting since this is a Hongli kit and it cost only 1/3 of the SRP of Bandai. Sacrificial lamb as I called it for the master of disaster will lay down the brush punishment to this poor kit. jejeje!

I want to build and paint this as close as the Bandai kit so I spent whole day planning what to do and how will I execute to get this one done. Enjoyed this kit so much that It took me hours and hours from preparation to painting. Even forgot to take a pic after I snap built it. jejeje! Hongli plastic is good and they fit well but nothing beats the orig of course. The stickers suck so I only used the one for the eye and discarded the rest.

As usual, I want my SD's to look similiar with the box art as much as possible, so guys here's another "master disaster" kit .. my first TT_Hongli painted kit....enjoy!

This is what the box looks like. Kewl aight! Another plus factor aside from it only cost $1.60, around 1/3 of the price of Bandai kit, it came with a stand. Pretty neat! An action base is included and is tailored fit for this kit.

Another weekend .. another rushed kit. Too lazy to redo the panel lines due to hangover.. see the nose thingie.. awts!! Sandrock got some booger! Maybe next time I'll do some retouch on this kit.

Got this kit from STC for $6. At first Im very hesitant to get this kit for there are lots of SD's to choose from. But since this is rare here in Manila, I decided to get it and plan to customize the color. After washing the runners with detergent and running water, I did spent the whole day sanding and sealing seamlines using Tamiya thick cement.

I cant wait to paint this kit, so with extra time last night I did some custom paint on it. Mixed paint here and there, spilled some thinner on our dining table (deym!) and tadaaaaaannnnnn .. another master disaster kit! excuse my shaky hand.. panel lines are bit off... ill fix this next time jejeje!

With the news that the MG Sinanju will be within my reach in a couple of weeks I got so excited and laziness kicks in today. The victim of the said laziness is the MS-09 SD DOM.

Snap built my SD DOM and slapped some paint here and there. Put on some additional panel lines and some water decals from my MG Unicorn. Voilà ... disaster!

First time to attend this caravan and grabbed some flyers and catalog on the said event. Tagged along my friends to the said event, want to try out the much hyped gundam markers! hehehe! Havent used any Gundam Markers except the GM01 (200) for panel lining so I guess this is my chance. After the registration we were given each with an FG EXIA, red/blue markers, gundam special tool (cutter) and a GM01 for doing those panel lines.

Deym, my first time to build a FG so I'm looking for a manual, I'm pullin my hair looking for it and only to find out that it's printed on the box itself. No wonder I saw people staring at the box looking strange looks like deciphering some sort of Egyptian codes! Stupid me..

Now the moment of truth, I tested the gundam markers, heck this is so messy! So funny that Im so desperate to try this markers that I tried to paint all those big white parts just to experiment on how the paint react to the plastic not to mention how it the paint looks like on the plastic covering of the table (lolz!) Yeah, I know!! Its a lousy job so thats why I called this version EXIA DUGYOT ver RIE. The gundam markers looks promising.. but hey I'm not used to this and I prefer handbrush! This markers are pretty expensive here in Manila plus very difficult to handle specially on tight spots ... so a big No No for me! Once finished, our kits are displayed in a separate table for judging. Too bad we have to go home and left the building. They said we can go back and have the kits for ourselves around 6pm. Nah I'm too sleepy .. sorry cant wait that long.

Oppps! I hope this markers are water-based or else this blue paints will be permanent on that table top!

Third installment of my SD addiction. Got this from Special Toy Center Ali-Mall Cubao during one crazy morning. Got this for around $6. My shift was 12midnight till 9am last week. So everyday due to this craziness and addiction I drop by STC since its along my way home.. did some window shopping and after long-hours of thinking which kit I will get (lol! it only took me about 2 minutes to decide after I saw the SD Cross Bone! hehehe!), I decided I will try my handpainting luck with this so called El Pirata .. Cross Bone Gundam.

I got home around 11am last Sunday. Ate my lunch and started planning what to do on this kit. Took me hours to mask those tinee-winee parts. Luckily I still have my Tamiya masking tape. I forgot to take a picture of the kit after its plastered with masking tape.. hey its halloween guys! My very own sd mummy-mecha! :)

My brother saw this kit and mentioned something about this collection.. if we will give SD kits as a gift to our nephews or cousins this coming Xmas.They will be very disappointed for sure, they might return the kit back to us and ask for money instead! ehehe! Curious why? Bandai did a great job on the box art. It is beautifully and artistically done, while the end product looks like this ... WTF?!

Anyways took me around 30 minutes to cut and assemble this kit and another 5 or 6 hours, handpainting the kit and adding panel lines and fine details. I hate enamel.. took so long to dry. I haven't got any sleep yet so after applying a layer of paint I took a nap (addictus as they say aight!). Finished the kit around 8pm, Im so sleepy so I called it a day. Did apply topcoat (matte) the next day.

Im happy with the result, I did enjoy building this kit... so guys here's the result of my sloppy work ...

My second installment of pending kits. Took me long hours to finish this baby. Got this from Wasabi Toys GH, cost me around $6. As usual I'm killin time and enjoyin the hobby. As per my officemate's comment "SD AGAIN?!". Don't worry Darryl King, when I got the chance and resources I'll get the MG Sinanju and EX-S! But as of now im completely mesmerized by this super deformed gundams that I've bought couple of kits that will surely keep me busy for weeks.

The MSA-0011 (MSZ-011) S Gundam is a prototype transformable mobile suit that appears in the Gundam novel "Gundam Sentinel". It is not only piloted by the protagonist, but the onboard Artificial Intelligence, A.L.I.C.E., is also one of its pilots.

Im now looking for way to get the SD Deep Striker! A resin kit that will measure my patience and my handpainting skill (as if i have one, lols!). Wonder where can I find that Deep Striker. Singapore maybe? I'll better wait or order online dont wanna disturb my relatives in Singapore about that kit.

... First blood. Noobz. Newbie. Snap built. Slapped some stickers. Handpainted the details. Topcoated with matte Tamiya spray. Grabbed an old Sony digicam for photoshoot. Nothin' special just killing time, forgetting all worries and problems and most of all enjoying the hobby. Bought this kit from Wasabi Toys in Greenhills. Cost around $6. Took a day to finish everything, from cuttin' plastics to sniffin spray paint. Another addiction in the making. As ive said this is more fun than doing Retail IT. :)

This lit' gundam stands around 5-6 cm tall. pretty small aight but cute. Crimson-red mono-eyed mecha.
